Fireworks.
Boom! Whoosh! Bang! Whizz! Blat! Pop!
Here come the amazing fireworks.

Boom!
One of them sounded like a gun.
There was a purple shooting star
and an orange planet
and a blue water fountain.
Some sounded like hot popcorn doing the haka.
When they came down it looked like
they were going to crash, like an aeroplane.

And it was pitch black so I couldn’t see myself
because I was wearing Black clothes just like the All Blacks. Then everyone cheered for the haka Fireworks.
They were doing a dance like a doggie.

The Taniwha

One day in the darkness of Waipu Caves was a Taniwha that lived in the mud.  It bit down on my legs and I could not get help or escape. It was a terrible dream.

Groups one, two and three were going caving.
We collected our bags and our gumboots and collected our lunch. We reached the caves and Mr Baker told us we must watch out for the taniwha. He lives in the mud and we had to go on your tummy and get to the other side.
Some of us couldn’t go down and some of us did. While I was waiting, I was making a mud ball.

When when we turned off our lights, I saw some glow worms. They were so pretty and  it was so light that
they were making a Sky Tower that was amazing. We washed our hands and then the water was so cold that you could make ice-cream in a cup.

We saw the light and we went out of the cave. Everyone asked us why we were so muddy. We told them that the taniwha almost got our legs and that Byron couldn’t get out of the mud. They all laughed.
